Movie reviews: I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry – Part 1

What to do on a Sunday afternoon in Oskaloosa, Iowa but to hit the town’s cinema which gave me the choices of viewing either I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry or Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I chose wrong, but at least my diet Mountain Dew wasn’t as flat as the movie.

It’s a sad day in movie history when the best part of this bomb was the ending (credits rolling), but Im getting ahead of myself. Chuck Levine (Sandler) is an over-sexed stud who beds any female that crosses his path, already we know this is not based on actual events and Larry Valentine (James), gives us a grisly performance as he tries to juggle fatherhood Read the rest of this entry »

Movie reviews: The Number 23 – Part 7

Joel Schumacher has directed many films (BATMAN FOREVER, THE LOST BOYS, FLATLINERS, A TIME TO KILL, PHONE BOOTH, etc.) and its good to see him return to the horror genre with the Jim Carrey starring THE NUMBER 23. Less a horror film and more a suspense thriller in the vein of FLATLINERS, THE NUMBER 23 finds Walter Sparrow (CARREY) in the mist of paranoia and fantasy when he receives a book from his wife Agatha (Virginia Madson) titled The Number 23, which is about a private detective Fingerling who gets wrapped up in a noir-mystery with dark consequences.

The film switches perspectives between that of Sparrow’s descent into paranoia to that of the fantasy of the literary world of Fingerling Read the rest of this entry »

Mercedes-benz to Release New Black Series

One way of increasing the popularity and value of a car is of course to design them to be able to perform at an exceptionally high level. Another way to increase the selling point of a car is to make it rare and this means that you would be releasing only a limited number of a particular model into the auto market.

Car manufacturers do this to increase the popularity of the model or to commemorate a milestone. Mercedes-Benz, for example, has increased the already high value of their cars with the successful release of the first Black Series. This year, the German company hopes to continue the success of the Black Series with Read the rest of this entry »

10 Mistakes to Avoid When Setting Up a Link Directory

10 Mistakes to Avoid When Setting Up a Link Directory

When adding a link directory to a web site there are important
mistakes to avoid, or else you’ll be storing up big problems for
later on. I know, because I made some of these mistakes and
didn’t have anyone to offer any advice or tell me what I’m about
to tell you.

  1. Don’t create a directory page with all your links on one
    page.
You should have no more than 30 – 40 links to a page.
The reason is that some sites will not link to you if a page you
put their link on has too many links, because it dilutes the
value of the link to them. To understand why, you need to know
about Google Page Read the rest of this entry »

When to upgrade your computer monitor

This is a very simple question to answer. The answer is: When you want to.

But I will elaborate on this a bit so you can understand why it is true. If your monitor is not causing you any issues, there is no reason to upgrade. However, if it is a CRT (the older style monitors) taking up too much space on your desk, you might want to consider getting a flat screen (LCD). Also, if the monitor is beginning to get a bit fuzzy, you will want to upgrade right away as this could degrade the quality of your eyesight.

I think the better question to answer here is this: “When I do want to upgrade Read the rest of this entry »

Why should the world care about the environment in places like Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Rwanda?

“Dad, this week we have another trip to the Zoo, could I please have some pocket money to spend because we will be out all day”. I remember my days when I was still in primary school and I could not wait for a school trip so that I can see the wild animals up close. My school had these trips each month depending on the schedule of the class and school.

The land was well kept, trees well preserved and I could tell a tree by its leaves. I knew grazing pastures, where to find different animal each season, life was just incredible and I can never forget these times, not because of the good time I had but also Read the rest of this entry »

TV show reviews: Venture Bros.

The Venture Brothers are a huge success if you poll the select group of young teens and adults from this select area of California where I reside. However, is it “all that?”

The show follows Hank and Dean Venture, with their father Doctor Venture and faithful bodyguard Brock Samson as they embark on “adventures” that lead them to all sorts of trouble and random acts of silliness. The show is more or less a spoof sort of take on the old series Johnny Quest and sampling some flavor from The Hardy Boys. Patrick Warburton, best known as Elaine’s off and on main boyfriend from Seinfeld, voices the Brock character.

The show consist of very good and solid animation as you move further Read the rest of this entry »
