There are three reasons to disconnect a car’s fuel line. The first is to replace or repair it. The second is to take it loose at the engine to test the fuel pressure or replace a fuel system related part. The third is to replace the fuel pump,work on the gas tank, or replace an in-line filter. It’s not really that hard to find out.
Mainly because most domestic automakers will come up with some sort of dealer rebate on ‘and’ car sold by the dealer.
Often, that rebate will be supplemented by a factory rebate to the dealer. Pretty sweet.
Normally, the automakers rebate ranges from 1-3%. So say you take 2% as an average automaker to dealer rebate.
Assume that the dealer is also getting a further 1-2% rebate from the factory. If you combine the two, it’s probably safe to assume that the dealer is ‘at least’ getting a 3% rebate on the invoice price of the car after you buy it.
