Bmw to Offer Twin Turbo 1-series in the US by 2008
BMW officials have confirmed to Winding Road at a corporate event this week that the 1-series will be making its way to the US shores in 2008. Although there are some official company statements released saying that the 1-series is due for the US market in two years a source within BMW’s company however said that is an overstatement and confirmed that the 1-series will be announced for the US market before the end of 2007. Sales of the 1-series is expected to start early in 2008.

Last weekend at JapFest show at the Castle Combe happened the largest ever gathering of Honda NSX supercars. Forty-three of the legendary mid-engined sports cars were gathered together to grace one of UK’s biggest NSX clubs.
Owners from different places have assembled at the Wiltshire venue to create a huge display that catches the attention of show organizers, who awarded the club for the efforts they have given the event. There were also some members who tried on track to test the power of their pristine machines.

New Hybrid Technology Being Developed
General Motors, which has lagged behind Toyota in the building of hybrid cars, announced at the Geneva Auto Show earlier this year that they would introduce advanced hybrid technology in 2010. Based on current technology powering several of its sedans, the next generation hybrids will utilize an advanced lithium-ion battery, supplied by Hitachi Vehicle Energy Ltd., a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Hitachi Ltd.

With an entirely new platform and striking new design in the exterior, the BMW 5 Series is set to be unleashed in 2010. Generally speaking the engineered designs is a huge departure from the present yet ever intriguing E60 5 Series. The “flame surfacingâ€, however, is remained as is. It is BMW’s design play of concave and convex shapes.
Some of the new BMW 5 Series’ design cues are adopted from the current 3-Series. Examples of these are the rear lamps and v-shaped hood lines that extend down into the front grille bumper fascia, and the coupe-like roof-line that expands down into the quarter panels and luggage lid. In effect, the abhorrent “bangle butt†is gone.
