According to the Project Management Body of Knowledge, third edition, published by the Project Management Institute, “Project management is the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to a broad range of activities in order to meet the requirements of a particular project” (2007). The requirements may include factors in scope, timeline, and budget. Leading the project team to meet the requirements is more effective if the project team collaborates to provide the best results for the client. However, there may be times when the team does not agree and cannot reach a collaborative agreement. During this time, the project manager needs to balance the desire for the team to agree on approach and the ability to deliver on the project.

Project scope; Managing vs. leading the project

The goal of a project team is to deliver the requirements on time and on budget. The project manager is to create and monitor a project plan that will meet this goal. Monitoring the plan includes controlling the project scope. The objectives within the project outline the vision and scope of along with the requirements. This provides the constraints for the project scope.

It is not uncommon for individuals, whether they are customers or project team members, to think of ways to improve the project after agreeing upon the scope. Increasing the scope may affect the timeline and budget. However, there may be times when the increased scope is necessary for the end result of the project to be successful.

Project managers facilitate the creation of documents to include references to the original requirements and verify that work items adhere to the original agreed-upon scope. The project manager is also responsible for receiving requests for scope changes and facilitating those requests through a change control process.

Managing project stakeholders

The project stakeholders have a vested interest in the project. The project management team will collaborate with the stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. This includes reviewing project artifacts with the stakeholder and gaining the stakeholders’ written agreement. The project management team, considering inputs from the rest of the project team, is also responsible for communicating the project status to the project stakeholders.

Influence as exchange

Project managers often have accountability without authority. This translates into using methods to influence or collaborate with the project

Here is a band that holds a catalog that includes NO terrible songs, I mean, The Beatles

do have songs that aren’t great but at the same token, these “not too great songs” are easy to digest also. I’ve always thought that they are one of the bands with a chemistry of amazing universal proportions that leaves a simplistic, yet deep influences on just about anyone who has love for music. It’s very difficult to narrow down just one favorite Beatles song, In my opinion, with me being an absolute fan of the band. I would like to review a favorite song that was written by each member of the band just because of respect, admiration, and tribute for one of the greatest musical groups that rendered my passion for music. For a Ringo song that he composed (one of the only two that he wrote himself) would be “Octopus’ Garden”. Nice and friendly harmonies with lyrics of positive content. For a Paul tune, It would have to be “Eleanor Rigby”. One of the darkest songs ever written with an arsenal of string instruments of tragic, classical and absolutely enticing arrangements. George is a very under rated guitarist and songwriter that struggled to put out his expressions from out of the gigantic shadow of the Lennon and McArtney song writing team. The song that George wrote with such incendiary infection and always leaves my soul soaring to the cosmos would be “While my guitar gently weeps”. recorded along with a guest musician and close friend of George, Eric Clapton contributed some of the tastiest and soulful blues riffs on recording. As I always save the most difficult one for last, my favorite one from John Winston Lennon would be, “Dear Prudence”. Brilliant guitar picking, excellent harmonies and at the top of his game with song writing skills, John Lennon delivers with simple lyricism of love poetry that formulated excellent dynamics accompanied with each band member’s distinct and simple embellishments. To me, The Beatles left an eternal mark that will always be my absolute foundation for my passion for music that fermented into such a diverse and enormous spectrum of musical styles. With songs about love, heartaches, insecurities, experimental explorations, mutual respect and even some bizarre themes. Songs from The Beatles are honest, typically human and absolutely brilliant.

What do you need to know before you buy a desktop computer as a gift? You need to know what kind of person that the other person is. You don’t want to give a super computer to someone that is not going to use all the potential the computer has, and if you give a bad computer to some one that plans to use the computer to play computer games, the person will not do that much with the computer.

A person that wants a computer just to play games will not need a very big hard disk and you should else invest in a very good graphic card that will make the games much more smooth.

If the computer is going to be used to work then it makes no sense to add a good graphic card to it, does it not? What if the computer is just to surf the internet? You are not going to need a graphic card too and you will need a very fast CPU.

This is the best a computer can get.

Now what if the computer is going to be used for video edition? Then you are going to need a super fast CPU, probably one of the best ones in the market.

Video is the heaviest thing you can order a computer to do, only simulation is heavier in terms of CPU loads.

Simulation can be construction programs, it can be architechture software, it can also be games, it can be city planning, it can also mean you are going to need a super CPU with more than four cores so it can work even much faster.

Now let’s say the computer is going to be just to work on Microsoft office. You just need a basic computer. Not something very good and not something very bad either.

If the person is a student the computer must have a very fast CPU to handle any kind of applications. This computer will also need 4 GB of RAM. Because 8 is still too big for today. Maybe the next year. A Huge hard disk is a must to hold all the programs you need inside it.

The student will also need a long lasting battery other than just a light computer. This is because the computer will need to work on places with no electricity for all most of the times.

Now do you don’t know what kind of person you are going to give a computer?

That is a little problem. If you can’t find out the kind of person the other person is then you are going to need to buy a general computer. Get a quad core computer with 4 GB of RAM, a ATI graphic card of medium speed and get also the biggest hard disk you can buy.

This is the best I think you can get.

Windows Vista or XP? Vista.

Is Cedric the new Sanjaya? I really love this show, but it seems to have lost its footing over the past two episodes. While it once was a brilliant cross between American Idol and Dancing With the Stars, it now seems to be losing its legitimacy amidst the pressure to produce top TV ratings above all else.

For weeks, even dating back to the audition process, Nigel Lythgoe has repeatedly stated his concerns about rubber-limbed male dancer Cedric. His unique dance style has always been breathtaking – the man appears to have no bones in his body, and his flexibility defies everything that we learned in Physics. His solo performances are deeply moving.

But Nigel’s apprehension about placing him in the top 20 now seems tragically well-founded. His fear that Cedric would “let his partner down” has been played out week after week. We’ve witnessed skilled choreographers planning routines that require his unfortunate female partners to dance as though their feet were aflame while Cedric reclines in the background. Superior male dancers have been obliterated in his wake as the judges pandered to Cedric’s “uniqueness” over the more trained dancers’ “talent.”

American Idol’s Sanjaya may have been a cult phenomenon and a ratings hit, but his lingering presence on the show has severely damaged the show’s credibility among adult viewers. We don’t tune into these shows each week to witness a popularity contest. We want to see true talent emerge and triumph. It’s the American ideal.

We encourage our children, our families, to watch shows like these so that they’ll learn that dreams really can come true, that hard work eventually pays off, and that perseverance is a true virtue.

But this year, we’ve taught them something totally different and far too familiar. Popularity is more important than hard work. Go ahead – train for years and put your heart and soul into each performance. Dance your butts off, Faina, Jimmy, and Jesus, but it may not make a difference. Even a brilliant personality, once the sole saving grace on many reality shows, won’t save you anymore.

Try not to take it too personally, though. The judges won’t be able to give you any constructive criticism to work with, but that’s because you didn’t do anything wrong. You shouldn’t have even been IN the bottom three in the first place. But you’re just not unique enough. Cuz, as everyone knows, you must be unique to be a backup dancer for Celine Dion’s Vegas show. That’s what the diva’s looking for – someone to show her up onstage with their individuality. Huh?

The best thing about this show has always been the judges’ ability to “save” some of the dancers that American voters threw to the wolves. But no more – on last night’s episode, there was no rhyme or reason, no logic, and certainly no explanation given to the evening’s final castoffs.

So You Think You Can Dance markets itself as a means to promote dance in all its forms and provide needed inspiration to dancers around the country as they nurse their blisters, bunions, and bruises, all the while keeping their eyes on the prize. But now we’re selling them short. Unbelievably, Nigel has actually now stated that talent does not matter. Is that really the message that we want to send out to our young people?

Sanjaya was a sweet kid, really. He was harmless. But do we really need another group of screaming Fanjayas? Nigel, are you listening? You know that professional dance is serious stuff to these kids, and you’re crushing their ideals with this unfairness.

But don’t worry too much about the ratings. Maybe the contestants will come out wearing pony-hawks on the next episode.

As we age, we become more prone to osteoporosis and other bone diseases. Osteoporosis is a disease characterized by thinner bones and low bone density that can weaken the bone structure and can lead to spinal and hip fractures that can be disabling.

Women are more prone to osteoporosis especially those who are in their menopause stage. It can cause a lot of damage in your body like poor posture and other disorders.

Fortunately, this condition can easily be prevented by proper diet or nutrition, lots of calcium and vitamin D intake, and exercises. There are exercises that are proven to strengthen the bones. Young women who exercise regularly have lower risk of developing osteoporosis later on in life than those who don’t.

The best bone exercises are those that include weight-bearing where your bones will support your own weight. These exercises will stimulate the osteoblasts or the bone cells to build up making the bones stronger.

Weight lifting can help strengthen your muscles. The force exerted by muscles when being pulled can help the bones become stronger. Exercises that can improve muscle strength are more likely to have good effects on your bone health too.

Light exercises that will make your body and bone work are effective and safe especially for those who already have osteoporosis. Some of these exercises are walking, jogging, aerobics, and climbing up the stairs. They specifically target bones in legs, hips and spine.

Resistance exercises require the use of weight machines, elastic bands, and some weights. These are to improve the arms’ bone and muscle strength. These are also good for upper body work-outs.

As osteoporosis results to poor posture, exercises that can help strengthen the back muscles can help improve posture. Exercises that will arch the back like stretching can bring back good bone alignment.

Yoga is another way to improve bone condition. Though not all types of yoga is advisable because of their intensity, there are some that requires light movements and poses. This can improve your body’s flexibility and posture.

Dancing is an exercise that requires the whole body to work and move. It is good for the muscles and bones. It can greatly improve balance which is very important for people with osteoporosis to prevent falls that can lead to fractures. It is an effective way to lose some unwanted weight because it can burn from 50-100 calories in just 10 minutes.

It is never too early to start taking care of our bones. Prevention is always better than cure. Though exercise can help prevent bone diseases, proper nutrition with foods high in calcium and a healthy lifestyle will do wonders as well.

Always consult your doctor before doing a specific exercise to make sure it will have good effects on you or will not make your condition worse. The doctor can even recommended a program or exercise that will work best for you.

Increase your daily physical activity like walking to maximize the results you get from exercise. Perseverance is an important key that anyone who wants to improve their bone health must possess. Good results will not come to you overnight, instead you have to put lots of time, effort, and patience to achieve them.

Branding yourself can take a little time but once done, you’re in business and making the kind of money you had hoped for in the first place.I am often asked how an individual can brand themselves and if personal branding is as valuable as corporate branding.Truth is personal branding is easier than company branding.Strong brands are clear about who they are and what they are not. Which is why branding yourself can be an easy process. The key to successfully branding yourself and doing it effectively is to first establish a personal brand identity. Thus I like to encourage you to consider branding yourself as well things you touch and activities you are involved in. Companies who focus on branding will stand out amongst the crowd. At its essence, personal branding is about the authentic and very special promise of value you offer.I strongly believe in investing in a brand and branding myself and have decided to put the money where my mouth is.

You also can post comments to websites that address your industry or interests and become known for offering insightful, useful comments. The power of recommendation is all about you. Products will come and go, but a brand will live on forever. Think karma, think soft selling, and think of what comes to your mind when I say Coke, Apple, or IBM. Your bio is a powerful aspect of your company. Branding yourself can actually have such a dramatic effect that you will become hunted rather than being the hunter for your next job opportunity.

Brand

Get a fresh new look and brand yourself with a style all your own.By branding yourself effectively you will:Establish yourself as an expert in your chosen field. They will identify with your brand which is you.The truth is, branding yourself can be even more important than the actual products or services that you sell.If you brand yourself instead of your product, what happens is that when people think of you they think of your product.I do know the power of a brand and know what it can do for you.Ultimately, you’re replaceable if you’re not a brand. And if you want to build a brand, get into marketing.

Personal

The brand called you is the ultimate resource for building your personal brand, one that sells you, not your product or company.Branding yourself can be your biggest differentiator, but how many people actually spend time focusing on building their own strong personal brand.I personally think the new internet marketing revolution is here, well with all of the social networks popping up all over the internet.

Success

To be successful, a positive initial impact is required and then effective communications have to be sustained.Take action today and work towards becoming procrastination-free and learn marketing success. This simple measure can increase web site traffic significantly, which is the single most crucial element necessary for success on the web. If you are a person who can visualize some awesome long-term goals for success, and have the dedication and self-discipline to do whatever it takes, network marketing or mlm could provide you some of the greatest benefits you can imagine.Branding yourself can make all of the difference in the success of your business and your career.

Rising temperatures mean more people will be turning to their trusty air conditioners in order to beat the heat. Generally speaking, air conditioners fall into four different categories: window air conditioners, through-the-wall air conditioners, central air conditioners, and lastly, portable air conditioners. Window air conditioners are installed into the window of a room and designed to cool that particular room. Through-the-wall air conditioners are mounted into a wall and provide a cooling effect by exchanging inside air with outside air, while central air conditioners cool entire homes and buildings. Portable air conditioners, on the other hand, do not require permanent installation such as reconfiguring a window or breaking into a wall and can be moved from one room to the next.

Because of their easy maneuverability, relatively small size, and portability, portable ACs are ideal for a variety of settings, including apartments, rooms, workplaces, computer server rooms, or anywhere else where installing a traditional AC may not be feasible. Although easy to maintain, portable air conditioners will need to be vented out a window, but this is easily accomplished by positioning a flexible hose out through the window opening. Nonetheless, portable air conditioners are still great for supplemental or spot cooling, and many of today’s models such as also come with built-in heaters and/or air purifiers. Moreover, because portable room air conditioners utilize a refrigeration cycle to lower temperatures, humidity levels are reduced, therefore making them especially useful for humid climates.Â

However, when it comes to choosing a portable air conditioner, there seems to be a lack of reviews for such units. Thankfully, for the past few weeks, our product review team has been hard at work testing the most popular portable ACs on the market. For this week, NewAir sent us the sleek and stylish AC-1600E portable air conditioner, and we were especially impressed with its design and cooling ability. We tested the NewAir AC-1600E portable AC in our product editor’s 150 square foot office on a warm afternoon.  Here were our findings:

Style and Design:

Upon receiving the NewAir AC-1600E and after taking it out of its carton, we saw that the unit sported a sleek silver finish – something hadn’t seen with many other portable ACs we’ve tested. Although it weighed roughly 85 pounds or so, there were built-in, easy to roll casters that allowed us to move the unit from one office to the next with ease. The control panel provided bright contrast and clear visibility, while the included remote allowed us to conveniently control the unit from across the room. The included window kit and large diameter exhaust hose was also easy to install, and within just minutes, we were able to get the NewAir AC-1600E portable air conditioner up and running.Â

Cooling Capacity:

When choosing a portable AC, one of the most common mistakes consumers make is incorrectly sizing their unit. Portable air conditioners are sized according to BTUs, which stands from British Thermal Units. A BTU is a unit of energy that is commonly used in the power, steam generation, and heating and air conditioning industries. A portable air conditioner’s BTU rating describes its power and cooling capacity. Naturally, the higher the BTUs, the stronger the portable AC. However, the one problem we’ve come across is incorrect and insufficient BTU ratings. Some portable air conditioner manufacturers have overstated the cooling capacity of their products, but prior to receiving the AC-1600E, we spoke to NewAir directly and they reassured us that this portable AC featured a verifiable 16,000 BTUs of power with a cooling capacity of up to 500 square feet in optimal conditions. We found this to be true and even at the lowest setting, the NewAir AC-1600E provided more than enough cooling for our needs.

Condensate Removal:

The NewAir AC-1600E utilized auto-evaporative technology and this dramatically decreased the amount of moisture that was accumulated. Also, this portable air conditioner worked as a dehumidifier with a capacity of 80 pints of moisture per day. Although our environment wasn’t very humid, we noted that this would be a great feature for those living in humid climates.Â

Air Purification:

Poor indoor air quality is a problem that can plague most homes, regardless of how immaculate. Furthermore, when using an air conditioner, air is constantly being recirculated, so if you have an air quality issue, turning on the AC won’t help. Thankfully, NewAir has addressed this with the AC-1600E portable air conditioner. This portable air conditioner utilized a three-step filtration system that included a 3M filtrate filter, washable air filter, and an activated carbon filter. All of these filters work together to provide you with cleaner air, which is especially helpful if you have pets in your home.

Overall, we really liked the fact that the NewAir AC-1600E was compact, stylish, and feature-rich. Furthermore, this portable air conditioner offered far more BTUs than many other portable air conditioners in its price range.  Â

Recently, someone in my family wanted a larger i-pod (2,000 songs instead of 1,000) because the market assures its customers that they are getting what they want. Because it’s my teenage sister, I understand why the urgency to have “stuff.” My dad was in a confused state-of-mind, however, because even back in his day, he would buy an album a month, which of course, is less than 1/10th of what my sister will probably get. Since my sister wants a larger i-pod more than anything, however, it seems clear to me that she’ll get “spoiled.” Why does this happen? It’s not because the parents or their children are stupid, it’s because the market is an everyday occurrence that cannot be stopped, but the real sideshow is peer pressure: How else can you describe twenty-somethings reminiscing over how they had to get Cd’s of their favorite groups no matter what the cost was during the more obscure 1990s, for example?

Besides spoiling them due to what they didn’t have when they were their kids’ age, parents spoil them because they don’t want to get any blame from their kids for feeling alienated from “conforming” to what their friends and peers have: Little League Tryouts, Ta Kwan Do, Gymnastics, American Eagle, Abercrombie & Fitch, Apple, etc. Some parents have a larger issue though: They earn too much money from their white-collar jobs and don’t have a clue when to stop spoiling their kids even when their kids are in their mid-late 20s. There are various “class distinctions,” but in a multicultural nation like America, the divisions of class seems to be beside the point. Likewise, I will theorize why rich parents spoil their children: High expectations for their kids to make as much money (or more) as they do. You would be surprised how rare this happens, however. For example, I knew someone whose dad ran a very successful business in the ‘burbs and was so rich that he would pay his son’s rent, college, and (without even knowing it) anything affiliated with partying every night (For his sake, I won’t mention what specifically because he went to jail not long ago). What the “child” did when he was old enough to move out of the house was nothing but partying and he went to jail because he got spoiled too much.

Note that I am not trying to be condescending against this kind of behavior: A parent doesn’t have to be present with their kid as often as some may think, but I am weary over the attitude. Can a successful businessman come home and take some time from his life to teach his son how to be more cultured and successful? Not AS cultured and successful, but cultured and successful because even the brightest of children can’t learn so much information overnight, but can find change within themselves at some point and know when they can head to a bigger, brighter future (Some who are more wealthy and privileged can delay their learning experience a little more than others can). In the end, however, it’s not the money that can buy children their freedom but the patience their parents have along with a couple of restrictions, or more if necessary. Rules should and always be enforced, but how parents enforce the rules is their call and not their children. Otherwise, New Media will continue to exploit children on You Tube as “idiots” and then we’ll be even more pissed off by the way old people are running our communities.
